An armchair manufactured by Maple & Co ,one of England’s most popular Victorian / Edwardian furniture makers. This piece has been totally re-padded and upholstered in London Underground District Line velvet by Kirkby Designs which keeps it firmly on the rails . A feather and down seat cushion, laying on a jute webbed coil sprung hand tied and lashed seat, further adds to the comfort and sitabilty of this piece . Short tapered legs terminate with brass castors . The original makers plate has been nailed back on to the front underside and reads : Maple and Co by Royal Appointment London, Paris, Buenos Aires.
